Classes
Classical Ballet: Students from beginner through advanced will learn modified Vaganova Method (Kirov Ballet). This method will not only teach the student basic steps, but will also enhance the participant's mind, body and spirit.
Pointe: Students who meet the technical and physical requirements for Pointe will be permitted in this class. Students must also take the required amount of classes per week. Pre Ballet: Student's from age 4 are prepared for the beginning stages of formal ballet study. Students will learn the basic foot positions and the beginning vocabulary of classical ballet. Dance Combo: Students ages 3-5 will have the opportunity of engaging in ballet and jazz, or ballet and tap. This will give the child an easy transition into ballet, tap or jazz. Jazz Dance: Students ages 4 and up will have the opportunity to learn new dance concepts to modern day music. Tap Dance: Students ages 4 and up will be instructed to combine rhythm through movement. Modern/Lyrical: Students ages 6 and up will be enhanced to gain strength and agility through movement. Toddlers in Tutus: This class is designed for 2 year olds and a parent or guardian to learn basic movement through music. This will make for a smooth transition into a combo class at age 3. Acro: Students ages 7 and up can enjoy this class of acrobatics that teaches flexibility, balance, strength, muscle control, discipline and concentration. This class will focus on the fundamental acrobatic technique. Students will learn such things as handstands, cartwheels back bends, walkovers, and balance and contortion tricks. Acro is not the typical tumbling or gymnastics class. This class is great for students looking to enhance their agility, flexibility and strength. HipHop: Students ages 5 and up will learn a popular, energetic, street style dance. Musical Theatre: Musical Theatre is a jazz-based class filled with Broadway style dancing and music. Classes incorporate the style of dance one would typically see on a Broadway stage. This form of dancing emphasizes learning performance skills such as connecting with the audience and facial expressions. Appropriate for students 5 and up! |
